About the role: We’re looking for a dedicated, experienced Full-Time Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Centre team, with the opportunity to step into a Team Leader role. In this key position, you’ll play an essential part in supporting patients through their pre-admission, surgical, and post-operative care, all while mentoring and guiding our talented nursing team. You’ll assess patients’ readiness for surgery, provide clear, compassionate education to both patients and their families, and ensure they receive exceptional care during the post-operative recovery period. What we are looking for: We’re seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who brings a blend of experience, flexibility, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will ideally have: Current AHPRA registration and at least 6 years of nursing experience, with significant exposure to a surgical centre or day surgery within a fast-paced acute care environment. Experience in a Team Leader or similar leadership role, demonstrating the ability to effectively manage and support a team in a dynamic healthcare setting. Flexibility to work a variety of 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, across a rotating roster (with no weekends, nights, or public holidays). Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with patients, their families, and your colleagues. Strong emotional intelligence and empathy, particularly when dealing with high-pressure or sensitive situations.
